Lagoona's Story

Lagoona came to us nearly 2 months ago with a severely injured back leg. We thought we would need to amputate it, but thankfully, with some time, her joint has stabilized and she is pain free.

Lagoona is doing very well and is finally ready for adoption! Her back leg injury caused some damage to the tendons and ligaments that support the hock joint so the joint partially fused and she will have less range of motion in it and may have a funny gait. However, she does not have any pain in the joint currently which is great! She can still run, jump, and play normally. Her new owner will need to keep her a healthy weight lifelong to avoid extra stress on the joint and have her on a joint supplement, but she shouldn't need much else. In her older age, we would imagine she will develop some arthritis there so she may need some management with that, but only time will tell. There is a great medication called Solensia that is great for cats with arthritis that could be considered then.

If you are interested in adopting Lagoona or another one of our animals, please submit the application below and submit the $5 application fee. Please also take the time to review our adoption requirements including our vaccine and preventative requirements for existing pets in the home. If your pet is not up to date on veterinary care, we kindly ask that you have that completed prior to applying since we cannot hold any animals.

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScfwj4E8INvJgwuroLMdnOlLRZo_n3PQBHyowerHONa-i2j4g/viewform?fbclid=IwY2xjawQFrC1leHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETIwSmIwOFdiNzVIaVY0Wktkc3J0YwZhcHBfaWQQMjIy
