Kuti's Story

Psssst… I’m Kuti.

I've borrowed my foster mom’s phone so I could be proactive.

I heard she will be traveling on April 12, and I’m hoping to find a new foster or my forever family before then. I come already dressed for success in my gorgeous tuxedo.

My superpower is making the people around me very happy.

I love the company of humans and seek out their attention. I make them smile and enjoy sharing quiet moments together. Sure, it might take me a minute to get comfortable in a new place (I’m a thoughtful girl who likes to look around first), but once I feel safe, I turn into a purring, playful companion who wants to be near my person. It probably won’t take me long to have you wrapped around my little paw.

In my foster home, I’ve been working my magic! I purr a lot while snuggling with my foster dad. I play with my toys and explore my surroundings like a curious little adventurer. One of my favorite things is sitting next to my foster parents, grooming myself or snoozing while they relax. It makes me feel happy and secure.

My foster mom says I would thrive with someone who wants a loving, playful companion. And I have to say, she’s right.

Oh, and one more thing about me:

I have regressive FeLV, which can sound scary, but it actually means my immune system has suppressed the virus. I am healthy, stable, and considered low risk to other cats, especially vaccinated ones. My vets say I’m doing fine and can live a happy life.

I can be an only cat, or possibly live with a vaccinated feline friend.

Mostly, I just want a person — or people — to love and hang out with.

If you’re looking for a well-dressed, playful, happy little companion who will purr beside you and brighten your days, I’m right here.

Love,
Kuti

NY Cat Warriors, Inc.'s Adoption Policy
We aim to place each cat in a loving, lifelong home while keeping the process welcoming and supportive. After an initial inquiry (usually through Petfinder), we ask adopters to complete an application so we can learn about their home, experience with cats, and what they’re looking for in a companion. This helps us make the best possible match. We review applications and follow up by phone or video to answer questions and discuss the cat’s personality, transition period, and care needs. Approved adopters meet the cat (in person or virtually), and we conduct a brief home check to ensure basic safety measures are in place. All adopters sign an agreement outlining proper care and our return policy. Adoption fees help cover veterinary care. We provide vet records, transition advice, and post-adoption support, with check-ins at 1 week, 1 month, and 3 months. If at any time an adopter can no longer keep their cat, the cat must be returned to us. FeLV and Special-Needs Adoption Policy NY Cat Warriors rescues and places cats with a wide range of medical and special needs, including those living with FeLV (Feline Leukemia Virus). When adopting a cat with FeLV or another chronic condition: - The cat’s medical status is disclosed in writing prior to adoption - Adopters are informed of the condition and expected care requirements - FeLV-positive cats must be kept indoors - FeLV-positive cats must be kept separated from healthy FeLV-negative cats unless otherwise advised by a veterinarian We adopt FeLV-positive cats into loving homes prepared to provide appropriate care and a safe environment. Our team remains available to provide guidance and support after adoption. Our mission is to give vulnerable cats the opportunity to live safely, comfortably, and with dignity.
