Kuro's Story

About Me

Hi there... I'm the little shadow tucked up in the cat tower quietly watching the world go by. Don't worry if you don't notice me right away—I'm a petite, demure girl at just over 5 pounds, and I tend to take my time deciding when it's safe to come out and say hello.

But once you do earn my trust? Oh, that's when the magic happens.

I absolutely love attention, and the volunteers smile every time they see me perk up when someone stops by for scratches. Head scratches? Wonderful. Gentle pets? Yes please. Butt scratches? Those are definitely one of my favorite things. I may be shy at first, but underneath that timid little shell is a sweet, affectionate girl just waiting for her person to notice her.

I'm not the loud, center-of-attention type. I'm more of a quiet companion—the kind of kitty who brings a calm, peaceful presence to a home. I like observing before jumping in, and I'll need a patient, understanding family willing to give me a little time to settle in and feel secure. New places can feel overwhelming for a sensitive girl like me, but once I realize I'm safe, my true personality begins to shine.

If you believe the sweetest connections are the ones built slowly and gently, I think we might just be perfect for each other.

----------

WHERE IS THIS PET LOCATED? The Rescue Crew's Adoption Policy
Thank you for your interest in adopting a pet through The Rescue Crew! Your desire to provide a loving forever home to a rescued animal helps us in our shared goal to “Save a Life Today.” We are a completely volunteer-run, foster-based rescue, which means all of our animals live in home environments—not kennels—while they await adoption. This allows us to learn as much as possible about each pet’s personality, preferences, and needs so we can help make the best possible match for both the animal and the adopter. Our adoption process may take a little time, and you might notice we ask a lot of questions. That’s because we want to ensure a lasting and happy match for everyone involved. There are no “right” or “wrong” answers—these questions simply help us guide you toward the pet who will fit best with your family, lifestyle, and expectations. Many of the animals who come into our care have faced hardship, uncertainty, or even the risk of euthanasia. Our mission is to give them a second chance—and to place them in loving, responsible, lifelong homes where they can finally feel safe and secure. If you see an animal you’re interested in, please submit an application through our website at www.rescuecrew.org/adoption-basics as soon as possible. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it will help ensure your place in line for that animal—or another pet who might be a perfect match. Thank you for choosing adoption and for helping us continue our lifesaving work. Together, we’re giving hope and homes to animals who need them most.
