Krypton and Beryllium's Story
Meet Krypton, a good lucking, golden eyed brown tabby guy and his partner Beryllium, a sweet, demure Calico girl. They were rescued from an overcrowded cat situation along with several other kitties.

Krypton is leaning what it's like to be a cat who is fed regularly, played, with and given affection. He is eager for attention but is still figuring out that pets are good. He wants you to notice him but once you do he leaves but then quickly returns to make sure you are still going to try and give him affection. Once he relaxes for pets he enjoys them. Coming from an overcrowding situation it's not surprising he is learning what it means to not have to compete to survive.

Beryllium may take a little while to warm up to know you are safe. Once she knows, she may act like she's going to scatter, but if you can pet her first, she will absolutely love the pets, stick around and love the attention, walk away then come right back. She's very sweet.

Beryllium and Krypton find comfort in one another. We believe they may never have had never positive human interaction before Second Chance and they are both learning. They would benefit from a patient adopter willing to allow them to trust. All they need is positive reinforcement with words, pets, and wet food. A single adopter or a couple would be best for them but a family with older, respectful kids may also work. A dedicated volunteer in the room where Beryllium and Krypton live believes they "will absolutely blossom after they initially adjust". Both kitties get along easily with their roomies so could be part of a multi-cat household.

Yes, we know Krypton is Superman's home planet and that Kryptonite is his weakness. We think our little Krypton is super and will be your weakness, too!
Beryllium named after a metal that is high strength, yet lightweight is sure to show her adopter that while small she has built up endurance and is committed to having a long lasting adoptive home.

Krypton has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Krypton has an approximate birthdate of 09-02-2024. Beryllium has been spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, Her approximate birthdate is 09-02-24. Their adoption fee is $190.

If you are interested in Krypton and Beryllium or any of the cats at Second Chance Cats of West Michigan, go to sccatswm.org/adopt to fill out an application, or stop in during open hours on Fridays from 11-2 or Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4.

Please note - we can only adopt to those who live within a one hour drive of Grand Rapids.

Thank you!
