Konani's Story

What can we say about Konani and her sister Maggie? They are magical, mystical unicorns - also known as a pair of senior SCAS alums, one with a snaggletooth and one missing a leg, with two totally different personalties. These girls were adopted from us in 2018 and 2019, but sadly had to come back recently. We're told they're pretty bonded, so we're hoping someone is willing to open their home to both of them.

Konani is pure white and rocking 3 legs, but she doesn't let that stop her! She first came to us in early 2017 with a severly injured back leg requiring amputation. She was thought to be between 1-3 years old then, making her 12-14 now, but she truly doesn't look a day over 7! She's a shy girl who will need a little time to acclimate in a new home, but she's so worth it. She seems to rely on Maggie for comfort and confidence.

Maggie is the tuxedoed social butterfly of the duo. She's one of the first in her room to greet you, and is a true people-cat who will be your little shadow. She has an irresistible snaggletooth that just adds to her charm. She came to us as a kitten in 2018, making her about 8 now. While she loves her sister, she can get a little irritated at the other cats, so she may enjoy a home with just she and K, or with other non-dominant cats.

Apply to adopt your new best friend at www.secondchanceas.org/adopt or at the sanctuary any time we're open. Call 570-376-3646 or email secondchanceas@yahoo.com with any questions.
PA kennel license #04944

Second Chance Animal Sanctuaries's Adoption Policy
Our adoption process: 1) Fill out an application on our website at www.secondchanceas.org/adopt. Please note that submitting an inquiry through PetFinder or other online listing does not constitute an adoption application. Applications can also be downloaded as a pdf and emailed to secondchanceas@yahoo.com or filled out at the sanctuary any time we're open. 2) We will process your application by calling your veterinarian and personal references. How long this takes depends on how quickly we can reach them. You can help expedite this process by letting them know we'll be calling from the number 570-376-3646. We may also call you to ask additional questions or to share pertinent information about the animal you've applied for. 3) We will inform you of your application's status, usually in a few days to a week. Even if the animal you hoped to adopt goes to another home, you still may be approved to adopt another animal. We attempt to match animals to homes that best fit their personality/needs and vice versa. NOTE: You do not have to apply for a specific animal on your application. You can submit it as a "pre-application" for a certain size, age or breed of animal, and if approved, we can contact you if a possible match arrives at the shelter.
