Kitty Purry's Story

Spayed Female
Front Declawed
13 Years Old
4 Pounds
$0

Meet Kitty Purry, a sweet 13-year-old brown tabby looking for a soft place to land. She came to us as a stray, so we don’t know much about her past, but it’s clear this gentle old lady once belonged to someone. Despite everything, Kitty Purry still enjoys being around people. She can be a little nervous at first, but she’s very tolerant of being held and seems comforted by calm attention and affection. She’s also a bit skinny and would love a quiet home where she can relax, feel safe, and be spoiled like she deserves.

Kitty Purry is front declawed, which is important for potential adopters to understand. Declawing is an amputation of the last bone in each toe, and many declawed cats become more sensitive with their paws as they age. Because of this, she should remain strictly indoors for her safety. Declawed senior cats can also become more prone to arthritis and chronic foot pain over time, and some eventually require pain management or arthritis medication to stay comfortable.

Kitty Purry is currently using her litterbox well with us, but adopters should understand that this can sometimes change as declawed cats age and develop more foot sensitivity or arthritis. Soft litter and easy-to-access litterboxes can help keep her comfortable and set her up for success. She deserves a patient adopter willing to give her the comfort, kindness, and loving retirement she’s been missing.

At the Humane Society of Midland County, all animals adopted will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations prior to an adoption. Dogs over 6 months of age will be heartworm tested, and any dog with a positive test will receive treatment at No Appointment Needed to Meet Adoptable Animals!
We have open adoption hours, and walk-ins are always welcome! While filling out an application lets us know you're interested in adopting, it does not hold an animal, and applications are not required to meet the available animals. We do highly recommend and may require you to bring any dogs that reside in the same household, or that will be around commonly if you are meeting a new dog companion.

Want to Know if I’m Still Available?
Call the shelter at (989)-835-1877 to confirm my availability. If you’d like to show you’re thinking about adopting, please fill out an application on our website under "Adopt" at www.hsomc.org.

Open Adoption Hours:

Tuesday & Wednesday: Noon – 6 pm

Thursday & Friday: Noon – 7 pm

Saturday: Noon – 4 pm

I’m located at the Humane Society of Midland County, 4371 E Ashman St, Midland, MI 48642.

We can’t wait to meet you and help you find your new best friend!
