Kit Kat's Story

Kit Kat is looking for her break...

Kit Kat is a sweet but shy lady. She takes some time to warm up to her new surroundings and would need to a patient adopter willing to start her in one room and continue working on building trust. Kit Kat really likes to hang out with her foster mom while she works from home and takes her job as a WFH supervisor very seriously. Food is the way to this girl's heard! She LOVES wet food, churu and chicken flavored Greenies! Kit Kat comes running for her dinner and treats! She also really loves catnip kickers, the tower of track cat toy, laying up high in her cat tree and crawling into cave like beds or her carrier to sleep. Kit Kat is a great combo of chill and playful. She also has the biggest, round bright eyes and shiny fur.

Kit Kat is easy to handle though does not like to be picked up. She is okay with pets and scritches on her head and neck but is very sensitive to full body pets or on her lower half. For these reasons, we believe she would do best in an adult only home. Kit Kat may do well with older children who are quiet and know how to respect her space and read her cues. She does not seem to mind dogs if they keep to themselves; however, Kit Kat has made it clear that she needs a break from other cats so she would need be an only cat.

Kit Kat is estimated to be about 1.5 years old. She is spayed, dewormed, flea treated, microchipped, vaccinated, and has tested FIV- and FeLV+ (regressive).

**Kit Kat tested positive for feline leukemia, but the infection was in a regressive state at the time of test. A regressive infection occurs when a cat's immune system successfully controls the virus. Kit Kat is currently less likely to be able to infect other cats with feline leukemia and is less likely to be sick with FeLV-related disease; however, her regressive status could change over time.

Are you looking for a striking house panther to be your one and only? Trash Cat Rescue's Adoption Policy
Typically the potential adopter reaches out either with or without a specific cat in mind. We will usually ask questions about the type of cat the adopter is interested in (any preferences as far as gender, color, personality, etc.), as well as the sort of home the cat would be going to (any kids, other pets, etc.). If we have a cat or kitten who would be a good fit, the adopter can fill out our application for that animal. If not, the person can still fill out the app, and we will keep them if mind if we end up with a cat who we think would be a good fit. Once the app is reviewed/approved (including checking vet and landlord references), we would chat any further with the adopter if needed, and then schedule a meet and greet with them with the cat or kitten. If the animal and the adopter hit it off, the adopter would then fill out our adoption agreement, pay the adoption fee, and take the cat or kitten home!
