Kirby's Story
You've seen those signs on people's gates Beware of Dog. Have you ever seen one that says, Beware of Cat? Ill bet you haven't. We are more civilized creatures. There's a church that posted this sign: No bungee cords -- we encourage leaps of faith! That's a bit what it's like when you go to choose a pet, but the pet chooses you. It's called trust! I'm Kirby. Did you know that my name comes from a Norse word that means church and village? Some folks think black cats are scary I hope you're not among them, because I'm a sweet, gentle boy once I get to know someone. I rub on people's legs and follow them around the room now that I'm settled in a bit. I came here because my person was moving and couldn't take me along. I liked sleeping with her sometimes, and I liked the children in my home. But while I can be very sweet and docile, my behavior can be unpredictable. Change is unsettling, and being in a new place with many other cats and new people is quite different from being in a comfortable, familiar home with people I loved. When I am startled or upset, I lash out. I will need time and a patient adopter who will learn to recognize my body language. I will do best in a quiet home with only adults or perhaps older children. I do like to play; keep in mind that I may become overstimulated, and this may cause me to take swipes at hands or arms as well. Experienced cat people will recognize these signs. I am adoptable. I am lovable. I am a sweet boy, and I would love to belong to someone who will take a leap of faith, open your heart, and believe that I will be your beloved Kirby for the long haul.

Adoption fee $50 + microchip fee $30 + tax
