Kirby's Story
Meet Kirby, a handsome, solid, dry and white patch tabby who showed up one day at a feeding station, not neutered. We believe he was dumped. He was trapped so he could be neutered but quickly discovered this scared, sweet boy just needed a chance. Four years ago he arrived at Second Chance and shortly thereafter was adopted. Fast forward to today. Kirby was adopted by a loving husband and wife. Kirby was especially bonded with the wife so when she died recently he took it very hard. The husband tried but Kirby's heart was broken. The husband thought Kirby was just "existing" with him so the made the difficult decision to return Kirby in the hopes Kirby can find another loving adopter.

Kirby is still adjusting. He has been through a lot in a short amount of time. He is a bit shell shocked. He likes pets and we see him begin to relax a little more each day. Kirby needs time and a patient adopter willing to devote time and attention to this kitty who can attach so deeply. Kirby is very handsome with his white mitts and white tipped tail. He is a true looker and a lover.

Kirby is very friendly and really loves pets and lots of attention. He is a quiet, independent guy who gets along with other cats. He would make a great cat for a single adopter or couple who would love a couch buddy or a family too who wanted more chill than playful!

Kirby has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He has an approximate birthdate of October 12, 2020. His adoption fee is $95.

If you are interested in Kirby or any of the cats at Second Chance Cats of West Michigan, go to sccatswm.org/adopt to fill out an application, or stop in during open hours on Fridays from 11-2 or Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4.

Please note - we can only adopt to those who live within a one hour drive of Grand Rapids.

Thank you!
