Kiko's Story

Meet Ume & Kiko - A Bonded Pair Looking for Their Forever Home

Ume and Kiko are 4-year-old siblings who share a special bond and are looking for a home where they can stay together. Both are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines-ready to settle into a loving home.

These two are a bit shy at first, but with a little patience, they warm up and become incredibly sweet, loyal companions. Once they trust you, they truly shine and make wonderful, calming company.

They would be a great fit for a quieter home-especially with a senior looking for companionship-but they have also been around kids and dogs and have done well. They are not fans of other cats, so they'll need to be your one-and-only feline duo.

If you're looking for a pair of gentle, loving companions and are willing to give them the time they need to blossom, Ume and Kiko could be the perfect match.

Reach out to learn more or meet them!

Main Street Mutt Rescue's Adoption Policy
Adoption Policy – Dogs & Cats Our goal is to place every dog and cat into a safe, loving, and permanent home where they will thrive. To ensure the best possible match for both the animal and adopter, we have the following adoption policies in place: Application Process: All potential adopters must complete an adoption application. This allows us to better understand your home, lifestyle, and preferences so we can help match you with the right pet. Approval & Meet-and-Greet: Once approved, adopters will have the opportunity to meet the animal. For dogs, this may include meet-and-greets with current household dogs to ensure compatibility. Home Environment: Adopters must provide a safe and appropriate environment. This includes secure housing, adequate space, and a commitment to keeping pets as indoor family members. Veterinary Care Commitment: Adopters agree to provide ongoing veterinary care, including routine check-ups, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and any necessary medical treatment throughout the pet’s life. Spay/Neuter Requirement: All cats are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Dogs are spayed/neutered if 6 months or older. Puppies under 6 months are adopted out on a spay/neuter contract, which must be completed within the agreed timeframe. Adoption Fee: An adoption fee is required and helps offset the cost of medical care, food, and daily care provided while the animal is in rescue. Return Policy: If at any time the adopter can no longer keep the pet, the animal must be returned to our rescue. Our animals are not to be rehomed, sold, or given away to another party. Right to Deny: We reserve the right to deny any application if we feel the home is not the right fit for the animal. Lifetime Commitment: Adopting a pet is a long-term commitment. We expect adopters to be prepared for the time, financial responsibility, and dedication required to care for their new companion. We are dedicated to making thoughtful, responsible placements that benefit both our animals and the families who welcome them into their homes.
