Prior to adopting a pet from Prairie’s Edge Humane Society, you will need to personally visit and spend time with the animal at the shelter or foster home. If you have a spouse and children we will also ask that the entire family meet with the animal before the adoption is approved. If you are adopting a dog and currently have a dog, prior to the adoption being approved we will ask you to set up an appointment to bring your current dog to meet the new dog so that we are sure the two dogs will be compatible. Please be aware that all applications must be approved by our staff. If you rent your home a staff member from Prairie’s Edge Humane Society will need to talk directly to your landlord to verify that pets are allowed at the property you rent. Please bring your landlords current phone number with you. If you rent your home our staff cannot approve the adoption until your landlord has been reached. Certain animals may require a manager approval for adoption.
