Katie's Story
Katie is a domestic short haired, tortoiseshell with white, spayed female cat with an estimated birthday of late January 2024. Katie and 14 other cats (including Hugo and Oscar) were living outside in an Otter Tail County, MN trailer park. These cats were being fed and had appropriate outdoor shelters, but the new manager of the trailer park demanded that the shelters be removed and for the cats to no longer be fed. A deadline was given where the cat caregivers faced eviction or inhumane methods of cat population control would be put in place. A frantic, time-dependent live cat trapping project began, and all 15 cats were safely trapped and removed from the location.

Katie is a bit shy and timid, but she is loving the indoor, climate controlled life with plenty of food and love available. Katie can be petted and picked up, but will do best in a calm, quiet environment with a patient adopter. She is a calmer cat that can co-exist with other cats, and does seem to prefer the company of cats, (especially neutered males) over humans. Katie comes for human attention on her terms and her timetable, and prefers to be petted on top of the head and ear scratches over full body petting from head to tail.

Spayed; current on vaccinations; microchipped; litter box trained; de-wormed; and negative for both feline leukemia virus (FeLV) and feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV).
