Katia's Story

Katia was surrendered to Valley Humane on 9/24 after her caregiver passed away. She previously lived with another cat, Dicken, but is not particularly bonded with him although comfortable with the other cat in the home. Dicken was adopted to a new home and Katia seems happy to be the only cat in the home now, friendlier with her human caregivers and always in search of a warm lap to perch upon. She follows her people around the house and is losing some weight at a healthy pace!

She also lived previously with a cat-savvy dog. Katia weighs 15.4 pounds.

Katia is a bit of a bookworm. During the day, she is usually daydreaming out a window or enjoying a patch of sun. Though she loves when you talk to her, she is not always open to pets. She also purrs a lot and can be vocal. Every night she finds a warm lap and falls asleep on her foster caregiver. She is very sweet.

This cat is overweight. Weight loss will improve her quality of life and general health. Please consult with your veterinarian regarding a target weight, recommended food and a regular feeding regimen for this pet.

Do you have questions about this animal or are you ready to take the next step to adoption? Pleasanton Valley Humane Society's Adoption Policy
How It Works Potential adopters can read an animal’s profile to determine if the pet would be a good fit for their home and lifestyle. Copy and paste the application URL from the animal’s profile or click to apply. Once the application is received, an adoption counselor will call to discuss the match. Be ready to answer the call from Valley Humane as soon as your application is submitted. Animals shown on our website are ready to go home. We typically schedule an adoption appointment within 24-48 hours of approving an application where you can meet the pet and complete paperwork. Once you’ve decided a pet is the right fit for your family, the adoption counselor will walk you through our adoption agreement. All pertinent medical information will be provided to you, as well as a take-home packet including information on feeding your new pet. We will also verify that the animals’ microchip is accurate and prepare them for travel. Finally, we will collect the adoption fee. Please allow approximately one hour to complete the adoption process. After taking a quick picture to share on social media (optional, of course!), you’re ready to head home and start enjoying life with your new friend
