Kate & Sophie's Story
Kate has a tiny black heart sketched onto her nose, and it was the first thing we noticed about her. She was brought in as a stray with her twin sister, Sophie, who she is closely bonded with. They are about 9 months old and adorable little beans.

Our Kate is a little acrobat, and she loves to climb to the top of her sisal post to get the best view of the bird feeder outside. She is always ready to play and looks forward to visitors bringing wand toys into the Library Cattery. Kate stands on her back feet like a meerkat as she plays, and it makes all of us smile.

Every afternoon, Kate and Sophie snuggle together on their favorite cat tower and wait for their person to walk in the door. The girls are very fond of other cats and cat-friendly dogs, and would do best with an experienced owner who can give them all the time they need to open up.

Stop by to fill out an adoption application and spend as much time as you like with our cats. We do not adopt first come; we always select the best placement for our animals. Please call your veterinarian to permit them to speak with us for our vet check. If you rent, bring proof (lease/contract) that you are allowed to have a cat.

Our adoption fee is $50 for cats. This includes FIV/FeLV testing, flea/tick preventatives, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines, and spay/neuter if six months or older. If they are too young, we require a $50 deposit that will be refunded upon proof that the pet has been altered.

For more info on our shelter and available pets, check us out online:

West Milford Animal Shelter Society
Lycosky Drive, West Milford, NJ 07480
(973) 728-2859

Visiting Hours
Mon - Fri: 10 - 1
Wed Night: 7:30 - 9
Weekends: 10 - 3
