Kate & Sophie's Story
Kate has a tiny black heart sketched onto her nose, and it was the first thing we noticed about her. She was brought in as a stray with her twin sister, Sophie, who she is closely bonded with. They are about 6 months old and adorable little beans!

Kate has a wide range of hobbies, such as watching the hummingbirds drink from their feeder or supervising her foster mom as she does office work. She usually perches herself on the printer by the window, where she can do both at once.

Every afternoon, Kate and Sophie steal their brother’s doggie bed and run up to him to paw at his tail. In their minds, he is just a supersized kitty they can befriend. The girls are very fond of dogs and other cats, and they are currently living in a cozy foster home with one of our wonderful volunteers.

Kate and Sophie have been making excellent progress so far, and they are looking for a cat whisperer who can give them the special care they need and deserve. If you are interested in meeting our black and white sisters, email thewmass@hotmail.com for further details.

Stop by to fill out an adoption application and spend as much time as you like with our cats. We do not adopt first come; we always select the best placement for our animals. Please call your veterinarian to permit them to speak with us for our vet check. If you rent, bring proof (lease/contract) that you are allowed to have a cat.

Our adoption fee is $50 for cats. This includes FIV/FeLV testing, flea/tick preventatives, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines, and spay/neuter if six months or older. If they are too young, we require a $50 deposit that will be refunded upon proof that the pet has been altered.

For more info on our shelter and available pets, check us out online:

West Milford Animal Shelter Society
Lycosky Drive, West Milford, NJ 07480
(973) 728-2859

Visiting Hours
Mon - Fri: 10 - 1
Wed Night: 7:30 - 9
Weekends: 10 - 3
