KAI - HANDSOME INTERACTIVE ATTENTION-SEEKING BLUE BOY's Story
Kai was rescued from a local kill shelter where he had been brought in as a "public drop off, stray." He was super friendly, not vetted and fortunately tested negative for the feline leukemia. The unvetted stray cats out on the street mating and eating whatever they can find are especially vulnerable for disease, not to mention predators. After being neutered, he did break with what is presumed to be calicivirus, but after a week or so of fluids and support, he recovered and is now doing great. Kai is a unique guy and was not a happy boy when he was sick and for a couple weeks after. However, he has now turned into the sweetest cat! His foster mom can pick him up and flop him upside down and do anything to him without anything but appreciation on his part. However, because he was a bit aggressive in the beginning, to be safe we want him to go to a home that speaks feline and understands cats. Even when he didn't feel well and would get overstimulated, his body language was easy to read. Again, no signs of that now and it is super common for the newly neutered males to take a while to chill. Kai gets along with most of the cats in his foster room, there is one adult female that he loves to torment and one adult male that he likes to pick fights with so if he goes to a home with other cats, they need to be able to hold their own with him. He gets along beautifully with another adult male cat in his foster home that just ignores him totally and that dynamic is even better. He's great with kittens and juvenile kitties. His foster family believes Kai is a great cat with a high need for attention so if you don't like cats that follow you around and love to be loved, he is not for you. But if you like cats with a lot of personality but a little quirk, Kai just may be a perfect cat for your family. If interested in meeting this big blue handsome guy and seeing for yourself how sweet and loving he is, go to furryfriendsanimalrescue.org and submit an application. You will be contacted within 24 hours (if not, please check your spam folder).

NOTE: Please do not apply for Kai if you are allergic and seeking a Russian Blue for hypoallergenic reasons. Kai is NOT a purebred Russian Blue and is NOT hypoallergenic.
