Junior and Granite's Story
Please read through the entire posting and requirements before applying via our questionnaire at https://alleycatproject.org/adopt
Please do not submit an inquiry via Petfinder.

Meet Granite and Junior, a bonded pair of kitten siblings! They are approximately 1 year old.

Granite is a handsome, short-haired, soft gray tuxedo who likes to spend his time completing epic day time naps, playing with (and chasing!) his brother, and (having caught up) cuddling with his bro. He loves Churu, peacock feathers, and quiet corners where he can rest between play sessions. Granite is shy and is working on enjoying pets/touches by people.

Junior is a long and lanky, short-haired, black & white tuxedo who loves to relax by windows, boss Granite around, and find a high spot to nap. His favorite things include Churu (or any treat), playing with springs, jingle balls, and peacock feathers. Junior is also working on his socialization with people - he is less shy than Granite and likes to be able to watch what his people are doing during the day. He is not yet comfortable with being petted.

For the right adopter who is willing to work on continued socialization with these handsome and formally dressed Tux boys, it could be a rewarding process of teaching them that pets by people are part of a good cat life. Regardless of if they ever become lap cats, Junior and Granite will make fun companions as they play together and with humans they trust (enjoy the 8’ jumps to get their favorite string toys!). They get a little braver every day, so patience and treats may be able to coax some snuggles out of them yet.

Together, they make a striking and playful pair!
.
What Granite and Junior are looking for in a home:

- They want to stay together forever and must be adopted as a pair.
- They’re new to indoor life with humans, so they need a kind and patient guide to help them continue adjusting. Loud noises, fast movements, and strangers can make them nervous.
- They’ll need extra time and TLC to build trust.
- They have lots of kitten energy and will benefit from plenty of active play time.
- They feel at ease in a quiet and calm environment.
- They need to live indoors only.
- They have a positive history with other cats and may like having a feline friend close to their age.
- They have no known history with dogs.
- They need children to respect their space.

All Alley Cat Project’s cats are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated prior to adoption.

Alley Cat Project adoption fees are:

- $200 per cat or kitten
- $350 for pair of cats or kittens
- $50 for senior cat (over 8 years old)
- Flexible reduced fees for a cat with a chronic medical condition that requires ongoing care
- Additional charitable donations are appreciated and support our overall rescue efforts

Thank you for your interest in Granite and Junior! If your household fits the above criteria, you can apply to adopt them by filling out this questionnaire: https://alleycatproject.org/adopt

Only applicants who complete the questionnaire will be considered. Please do not submit an inquiry through Petfinder, as it will not replace the questionnaire and we will not respond. Many of our cats receive numerous applications, and we thank you for your patience while we review applications and find the best match. Local Seattle applicants only, please.

Please do not follow up on your application by phone or email as this will not expedite a response. As a 100% volunteer-run organization, we appreciate your understanding.
