June Bug! 's Story

June is a sweet & sassy senior (approx 9y) looking for her great escape!
Found in a ditch in the spring, she was weak and thin. After a few months getting weight on her, it was discovered that she had a mast cell tumor on her forehead which was removed and biopsied, totally benign and no further care needed!

If you have it in your heart to give this girl a soft, quiet place to land, it would mean the world to her. She loves a good brushing and is very communicative as to what she likes and dislikes. She was fine in her short term medical foster with other cats and a pushy german shepherd trying to investigate. As long as she has a perch next to you to snooze on she is happy as a clam! If you have a lap and don't get up a lot, even better!!!

Great with respectful children, the only real quirk June has is she can be mouthy when she's had enough petting or she doesn't want to be picked up. A home with people who are cat savvy and honor her clearly communicated boundaries would be the perfect fit. If you have that, she rewards you with so much affection :)

Update: although we have found at the shelter June is indifferent to the presence of other cats, we think she needs to have other cats, calm dogs, or people in the house as she displayed signs of separation anxiety in a house as the only cat with a lone human who had to leave daily for work. We will work closely with potential adopters to trial a foster-to-adopt fit to make sure you both are happy together!

https://jefferson.seamlessdocs.com/f/preadopt

**June, like all of our other cats, is indoor ONLY.
The average life span of an outdoor feral is two years. Outdoor cats are subject to these same elements and risk a distressing death.
Please speak with Kim, the shelter manager and the town's ACO, for more information regarding this.
