Julian

Meet Julian! Julian is an adorable little butterbean who came to us after being hit by a car. It left him with some nerve damage in his left front leg, rendering it unusable. We made the tough call to amputate once he was big enough, as his dead leg was hampering his mobility.

Getting him big enough proved to be his next challenge - for the first week, he only nibbled at his food and wouldn't put on any weight. His foster spent as much time with him as she could, but he would cry immediately when she left and wouldn't stop. She could see via her fostercam that he would just sit by the door and wait for her to come back. Finally, she decided to get him a friend - Wemby - and Julian became a whole different kitten. All of a sudden, he was eating like there was no tomorrow. He put on weight, and gained that extra pep in his step back. We truly believe Wemby gave Julian a reason to live.

Julian bounced back from surgery immediately - he didn't miss that stanky leg one bit. He just wanted to get back to playing with his bestie. His gait is a little funny, but he can still run, jump, and climb like any other kitten.

Julian is a very playful little guy, and extremely social. He has the face of an angel, and the temperament to match. He is very go-with-the-flow and is good with whatever comes his way. He's definitely more of a follower than a leader. When Wemby darts out of the foster room, Julian hangs back and makes sure Wemby doesn't get in trouble before he follows. He lets Wemby check out most new spots first, but once they're confirmed safe, he's right there with him playing and exploring. Julian isn't overly snuggly, but he does like a cuddle now and then, especially when he is sleepy. He's good about being held, even on his back.

Julian loves to climb to the top of his big cat tower and play with the ball tether on top. He goes nuts for literally any toy you throw at him (and this is in fact a great way for his foster to make her escape when leaving them for the night). He looooves to play rough with Wemby, but is always gentle with his foster mama - he never really went through the terrible biting phase that some kittens do. He is a perfect little gentleman.

Julian requires a kitty friend (or friends!) in his forever home, for companionship and playtime. The few times he and Wemby have been separated, he has been inconsolable, and cried even when cuddling his foster. We would love to see him and Wemby go together if possible, but we think he could bond fine with other cats or kittens, as long as they like to wrestle. We think he would be fine with gentle kids. He has not been tested with dogs.

Julian is estimated to be 5 months old as of September 2026. He has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. With an approved application, his adoption fee is $106. We would also do a two-for-one for him and Wemby, to keep this dynamite duo together forever.

If you are interested in adopting this particular dog or puppy, please see our Adoption Guidelines at http://www.humanesocietyall.com/applications/ .
