Julia's Story

Julia came from a living situation less than ideal. She is 11 years old and was once a reclusive kitty, but has since been introduced to toys and gentle head scratches. She enjoys stretching to the top of her sisal post and pawing around plastic balls with bells inside.

Julia has limited vision, but this does not inhibit her ability to climb up shelves and find the softest bed in the Big Cattery. She shares a space with multiple cats and is often found cuddling with her feline roommates. Julia seems to prefer male kitties and may enjoy a few friends in a home.

She would do best in a calm home with an experienced, patient owner who can give her all the time she needs to open up. Come see our little girl!

Stop by to fill out an adoption application and spend as much time as you like with our cats. We do not adopt first come; we always select the best placement for our animals. Please call your veterinarian to permit them to speak with us for our vet check. If you rent, bring proof (lease/contract) that you are allowed to have a cat.

Our adoption fee is $50 for cats. This includes FIV/FeLV testing, flea/tick preventatives, deworming, age-appropriate vaccines, and spay/neuter if six months or older. If they are too young, we require a $50 deposit that will be refunded upon proof that the pet has been altered.

For more info on our shelter and available pets, check us out online:

West Milford Animal Shelter Society
Lycosky Drive, West Milford, NJ 07480
(973) 728-2859

Visiting Hours
Mon - Fri: 10 - 1
Wed Night: 7:30 - 9
Weekends: 10 - 3
