Jovie's Story

Jovie is an adorable girl who was rescued from January's freezing temperatures after being on the run all of her young life. She has been adjusting to indoor life and people slowly but steadily since late January. She is timid by nature, but she is a very affectionate and sweet girl. She loves face, ear, and back rubs. Her sweet "meow" when you greet her in the morning means she is ready to eat, and she is a great eater. She is a very happy girl and loves to play. Her favorite games are chase the feather/mouse on the wand, racing through her cat tunnel tube, and snagging feathers in the pop-up toy.

Jovie is estimated to be between 11⁄2 to 2 years old, and is likely the mama of one or two litters. Her physical condition and health are terrific, and she has tested negative for both FeLV and FIV. All her other health checks show that she is strong and in great shape. With a loving indoor home and regular care, she looks forward to a long, happy, and healthy life.

Jovie will be timid when you first visit her, but with your attention, patience, and love, she will very quickly come around and you'll be inseparable. She can't wait to settle into her forever home!

Special note from the foster parents:
Jovie's transition from a wild cat to a home cat has been incredible. She is not yet a lap cat, but she is a real lover and a playful girl. That said, the best home for Jovie is with an experienced cat person. She needs someone who can give her patience, time, and space to continue adjusting to home life, gradually giving her more attention and indoor freedom until she is completely comfortable in her new home. We would keep her if not for the three we already have, all of whom came from the wild. We can't wait to see Jovie thrive in her new forever home!

This cat attends Saturday adoption events (10 AM to 2:30 PM) at our Verona Adoption Center.

READY TO ADOPT? Our volunteer foster homes get to know their fostered animals well and understand their personalities—allowing us to make great matches between people and pets! Let us know about your family situation, current pets, and the type of pet you are looking for and we can guide you to animals that would be a great match. Please note, completing an adoption application does not obligate you to adopt. You are welcome to visit our animals without an application on file, but if you find a cat/kitten you want, you may be bumped by a pre-approved adopter while your application is being processed. We are unable to hold animals without an approved application. Check our website for the most up to date adoption policies.
