Jour's Story

Hi, my name is Jour! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Social, affectionate, reserved at first
-Can Live with Cats: Jour did not get along with the other cat in her previous household. She is required to be the only cat in her forever home.
-Can Live with Dogs: Jour got along with the dogs in her previous household. A slow and supervised introduction with a calm and cat-savvy dog would be ideal.
-Can Live with Kids: Jour has never lived with kids. She will likely get along with most kids (six years and up), so long as they respect her boundaries.
-Needs Indoor Only Home: Highly encouraged, though she is used to supervised outside time.
-History of Litter Box Issues: Jour would often not use her litter box in her previous home and has had a few accidents here in the shelter. She seems to prefer a mix of pine and clay litter. Not having another cat around should also help.
-Energy Level: Moderate
-Bite History: None
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: No
Additional Information:
Meet Jour, a slightly spicy and very sweet adult cat who is looking for her forever home. She can be a little standoffish in new environments, but she quickly warms up. She loves to rub against legs and receive lots of head scritches. Jour was surrendered to the shelter for food aggression, though she has not displayed that behavior here at the shelter. It seems this was a reaction to the stress of living with another cat, so a cat-free household is a must for her. If you think Jour is the cat for you, adopt today!

If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
