What is Saving Sumter's Strays’s adoption process?

Submit application. We do a vet reference check, schedule a tour/meet and greet with the pet you are interested in. We do not do same day adoptions. You can come walk a dog or several dogs and spend time with them. Let us know and we can schedule a time to go over application and finalize https://www.savingsumterstrays.com/adopt *some browsers may require to copy/paste the link. The process includes screening by our adoption coordinator, application approval, then an appointment can be scheduled for a meet and greet. The adoption fee ranges from $250 to $350 covers: vaccinations, spay/neuter, deworming, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, and a microchip. If a dog is heartworm positive, treatment will be facilitated by Saving Sumter's Strays. SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE AN ADOPTION.
