Jethro's Story

Meet Jethro, a striking patch tabby kitten who was rescued from underneath a trailer in the middle of winters with several of his siblings. One of these kittens died and the other is Glade, also at Second Chance.

Jethro is very shy right now, seeking comfort with his roommates. He thinks he likes pets. He is still getting adjusted to human affection so is tentative with touch but yet receptive. Jethro will need a patient adopter willing to give him time to adjust at his own pace. He will need daily gentle pets, encouraging words, pets, and treats. We believe this formula works wonders with shy kitties. We also believe the shy kitties are worthy of love as much as their outgoing counterparts. Oftentimes, the pay off is even better once s shy kitty gains confidence and shows their true self.

We believe that kittens are happiest when they have another kitty to play with so Jethro will need to be adopted with another kitten here or already have a young playful cat at home.

For the safety of our kittens and for children, we do not adopt kittens under six months old to a home with children under the age of 6. Jethro would be great for a single adopter, a couple, or family with older respectful kids.

Jethro has been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Jethro's approximate birthdate is 11/16/2025. His adoption fee is $120.

If you are interested in meeting Jethro or any of the cats at Second Chance Cats of West Michigan, please go to sccatswm.org/adopt to fill out an application, or stop in during open hours on Fridays from 11-2 or Saturdays and Sundays from 11-4.

Please note - we can only adopt to those who live within a one hour drive of Grand Rapids.

Thank you!
