Java's Story

Java is a handsome 9-year-old, 14-pound gentleman who is looking for a quieter place to spend his golden years. If your idea of the perfect cat is chill, cuddly, curious, and always ready to warm your lap, Java may be exactly who you’ve been waiting for.

Java is a laid-back guy who appreciates the simple things in life: watching the world go by from a sunny window, playing with his cat toys, and curling up with his person for some quality cuddle time. He’s litterbox trained and even seems to know his name—call “Java!” and you may just have 14 pounds of love headed your way.

He has had limited experience with other animals, but his previous interactions with both cats and dogs have been peaceful. Java tends to be more cautious or skittish when he’s unsure rather than looking for trouble.

Java is coming to us through no fault of his own. His family is growing, and with a rambunctious toddler and another baby on the way, their home has become a little too busy for this mellow guy. He has never been physically aggressive with their child, but he has communicated when he feels overwhelmed with a warning hiss. His family knows that Java deserves an environment where he can relax, socialize, and receive all the attention he’s been missing.

At nine years old, Java isn't asking for chaos or adventure. He’s looking for a comfy lap, a good window, some toys, and people who will love having a big, easygoing companion by their side.

Java has spent years being someone’s cat. Now he needs someone willing to make sure he gets to keep being one.
