Jam and Chickpea Domestic Short Hair Evanston, IL

Meet Jam (torti f) and Chickpea (white m) a 12-week old brother-sister pair.
Jam is the smallest kitten in the litter, and is a perfect miniature version of her mom. She loves her wet food and will happily play with any of her brothers and sisters. She loves to run through their tunnel and explore. Chickpea is playful and loves wand toys or little pipe cleaners he can carry around.

Jam and Chickpea are well adjusted, easy-going kittens who do well with cats, dogs, and children.

These two are part of Mitten's litter. We fondly refer to them all as mittens. We rescued Mittens and her ten kittens from one of our animal control partners in Southern IL. Mittens went into labor just three days before she was scheduled to be transported to us and gave birth to six tiny kittens. That same day a litter of four orphaned kittens were brought into the shelter without a mother. Their only hope was to be adopted by Mama mittens. She accepted them as her own and has been a wonderful mother. Unfortunately, three of the tiniest kittens did not make it despite our efforts to save them. The seven remaining kittens: Gnocchi, Muffin, Chickpea, Jam, Avacado, Tootsie and Sprout have grown up to be playful, affectionate kittens thanks to our foster families love and of course Mitten's watchful eye. They are now ready to find families of their own.
