JAKE's Story

Meet Jake, a handsome black and white 7 year old kitty. Jake is just old enough to have a wise sense of maturity but young enough to still enjoy some play occasionally with his people. Jake was most recently indoors only and described by his guardian as very friendly. This extra large boy may do well in a home that provides indoor/outdoor access after a period of acclimation to his new environment. We always recommend a catio for safe outdoor access. Staff have observed that Jake is very friendly and loves having his head scratched. If you have spot in your heart for this big boy, come down to the Shelter and meet him today! Jake's adoption fee is sponsored by the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation thanks to “Leave No One Behind fund” – designed to adopter’s eyes towards animals who have been in the Shelter’s care a little longer than average waiting for the right adopter. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
