Jack's Story

My name is Jack, and I’m still trying to understand where my world went. I’m an 8-year-old black cat with a touch of white and a whole lot of sadness in my eyes. I came to the shelter with four other cats after our human passed away. We didn’t just lose a home, we lost the person who loved us, and it’s been hard to make sense of it all. Right now, I’m very shy and a little confused. I have some missing hair that will hopefully fill in with time, care, and love. The shelter staff say I’m a sweet boy, just one who needs patience, quiet, and someone who understands that grief takes time, even for animals. I weigh about 10 pounds and I’m already neutered, so there are no geographical adoption restrictions. I just need someone willing to give me a second chance at feeling safe again. Please come meet me at the Stafford County Animal Shelter, located at 26 Frosty Lane, Stafford, VA 22554. Hours:Monday–Friday: 11:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.Saturday: 9:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. Closed Sundays and holidays Maybe you can be the person who helps my heart heal, I’m ready to love again, I just need someone to show me it’s safe to try.
