Ivy's Story

Ivy has such stunning green eyes! She is very loving and adores pets, ear rubs, and cuddles. She likes to sleep with her foster mom or sit or lay next to her during the day. She goes absolutely crazy for the lazy pen. She also loves her banana catnip kicker and feather toys on a stick. She is about 3 1/2 years old and had been a mama for so long, over and over from what we understand, until her trust was gained enough to be rescued. She is now spayed, healthy, and ready to finally find the loving home and life she deserves. Ivy gets along with other cats and would be fine adopted into a home that already has them. She also has an independent side, and would be okay adopted by herself as well. Either way, you're going to love this gorgeous girl!

Ivy tested positive for FIV (see below), which isn't a big deal; she will just need a good, healthy diet and to stay inside so that she's not exposed to illnesses. Fiv+ kitties can live with cats that are negative as long as there is no aggression.

*FIV, or Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, is transmitted through a deep bite or in utero. It is typically seen in cats that have spent a great deal of time outdoors where the likelihood of altercation with other (male) cats is high. Cats with this condition can lead long, normal lives, but it is important to keep them indoors and healthy. FIV leads to increased susceptibility to infections and other diseases; if the cat is fed a high quality diet and kept free from parasites and other dangers, then the quality and length of life is excellent. Ivy is not on any medications.

Interested in adopting? Please visit our website at www.thecatsmeowanimalrescue.org to fill out an application. One application covers all cats and kittens staying at The Crumbs and Whiskers Cat and Kitten Cafe, those staying at our Petco locations, and those in individual foster homes.
Questions? If you're interested in adopting one of our cats, please submit an application through our website: http://www.thecatsmeowanimalrescue.org/ All adoption policies are described in detail on our website. In brief, if your application is approved, we will conduct a home check to make sure the environment is good for the animal and provide you with any tips we may have. We ask for a minimum donation of $225 to the cause - this amount barely covers the cost of medical care for the cat, and, thus, additional donations are greatly appreciated. We will also ask you to fill out an adoption contract.
