Ivy's Story
Meet Ivy. She is a beautiful all black kitty with bright yellow eyes. Our vet believes she is about 4 years old. She came to us with an unknown background as she was found wandering by herself. She has had some previous trauma as the base of her spine is elevated with a dip near the tail. Also her tail itself is shorter than normal. Fortunately this is not painful for her and she is a very playful girl. She also had to have her lower right canine removed due to a fracture.
Even though she has had a difficult background, she is lively, friendly and wants pets from everyone she meets. Ivy wants attention and she has the cutest habit of chirping when she comes to see you. She loves to play by herself and also with you. She is good with kids and dogs. I have a senior dog and from the first day they were comfortable together and would gently sniff each other. Ivy does not like my cat though, possibly because it is a male. I have not seen her around another female.
Ivy has been very good and only scratches her posts and plays with her toys. I have a lot of holiday decorations and she isn't interested in them or the Christmas tree at all.
Even though she is a friendly girl, I can tell she isn't very confident. She starts easily at sudden sounds or movements. She is curious but cautious at the same time. So I always make sure that she knows I am going to touch her so I don't surprise her. It doesn't change how lovable she is, I just am aware of my movements around her to increase her comfort level. I can already tell in the time she has been with me that her trust level has increased.
Ivy is happiest when she is around you. She would play with you all day if you were so inclined. If you move to another room she will eventually follow you so she is near you. All she needs is a loving home and someone to hang out with. Can you provide that for her?
If you are interested to learn more or would like to meet Ivy, please reach out to us at adoptafriendforlife.org.
