Iris's Story

Hi friends! I'm Iris! I am about eight years old, front-declawed and I'm spayed. I'm chilling in my foster home until someone adopts me. If that "someone" is you, please email pets@michianapets.org and ask for an application

Okay, now back to the fun stuff...about ME! Here is a note from my foster mom:

"Loveable, squeezable, smoochable Iris is 14.5 pounds of pure delight. She loves a welcoming lap and being snugged close almost as much as anything involving a glitter ball, including fetch. To Iris, glitter balls are superior to all else (except possibly food), although a meerkat softie is pretty sublime, too.

She is a friendly, confident gal who adapted quickly to our foster home after her beloved human was no longer able to care for her. She also adjusted very well to regular meals rather than free feeding. She'd prefer being the only kitty but got along well with a German Shepherd fursibling a few years ago.

She has a common, easily managed condition called Hyperthyroidism. She currently gets a small pill twice a day, but the medicine also comes in a cream form (AKA transdermal) that is smeared on an ear flap. Super easy peasy!

Fostering Iris has been a lot of fun; she's silly and endlessly entertaining. She's an easy-going cat, and when she looks at you with those gorgeous, slightly-crossed blue eyes, you're going to melt and love her as much as we do."

I think that humans are great and lap-time is simply fab. I adore glittery toys; after all, I am a fancy lady so that matches. Fetching is a blast.

For anyone interested in adopting me, please know that I'll need you to help manage my diet as I am also prone to pancreatitis. This is all still a very new discovery so my MHS friends will update when they have more information to share. I would like to lose several pounds, as well. A healthy kitty is a happy kitty!

Sometimes meeting new people makes me a tad nervous, but once I know someone, I'm not introverted at all! Okay, I'm waiting for you to keep this glittery-ball rollin'! Email MHS for the first step! Let's become a family! Love, Iris.
