Iris's Story

Iris is a female kitty, about 2 years old, with an exquisite calico coat. She also has extra toes on her front paws. With this combination of uncommon traits, Iris is a rare cat indeed.

Iris was rescued from the outdoors on a farm, along with her best friend, Marigold. These two sweet girls are in a wonderful foster home together where they are learning that life indoors is pretty nice!

Iris has a quiet, gentle demeanor. She is shy at first after her ordeal surviving outside. With coaxing, patience, and a squeezable treat or two, Iris will come out of her shell and show her loving side. Iris loves to be petted, and will stand on her rear legs to get your attention. She really is a lovebug once she warms up.

Iris also has a playful side too. Daily play sessions are a good way to help your new pet bond with you. Iris would enjoy a wand toy and something fun to chase. And most cats love the catnip filled banana toy too!

Iris would also love a tall cat tree, especially near a window. She will enjoy watching the wildlife outside from her perch. Plus a cat tree is a great spot for scratching and climbing. Iris likes to burrow under the covers when she is napping too.

Iris will do best in a quieter home. She is fine with older children who understand that she needs a gentle approach, and that she will warm up on her schedule.

A dog free home is best for Iris. She will do well as the only cat, but she might also be fine with another gentle cat. Ideally, Iris would love to go to a new home along with her BFF, Marigold if you have room for two.

Iris is a beautiful young cat who is waiting to show you her affectionate, loving side. She is looking for a nice home with someone who is patient and kind.

If you are interested in learning more about Iris or any of our cats, please send in an application from our website.

https://www.orangestreetcats.org/adopt.html

or email us at:

osc@orangestreetcats.org

Note: Orange Street Cats is currently following an adoption model that gives you support while getting to know your new cat. In the first few weeks with your new cat or kitten, you will provide a loving home. This gives you and your family an opportunity to be sure this is a good fit for both your family and your new cat. Our adoption team is available during and after the transition period to make sure our adopters and our cats are happy together!

NYS Ag & Markets Registration #RR278
