Thankfully, she was brought to safety, received the medical care she needed, and is now enjoying life in a loving foster home while she waits for her forever family.

Irene is an active, playful girl who believes life is better with fun and enrichment—especially if that fun involves wrapping paper. She loves to play and has made friends with the younger cats in her foster home. Irene would enjoy living with a playful companion who is still kitten-at-heart but not overly dominant. If she were to be the only cat, she would do best in a home that offers extra enrichment, ideally with access to a safe outdoor space where she can explore and satisfy her curious nature. She discovered the cat door quickly in her foster home and clearly enjoys spending time outside. Irene has also been fostered with dogs and would do well with a calm, cat-friendly pup.

Irene does have some mild congestion, likely a result of having lived in close quarters with many other cats before her rescue. Most of the time she sounds just fine, though she may have the occasional sneezing fit. With continued good care and time, this is expected to improve.

While Irene has made great progress, she will need a patient adopter—ideally someone with cat experience—who understands that trust takes time. Now that she feels safe in her foster home, she truly enjoys a full-body kitty massage and likes to sit close to her human, though not directly on a lap. She is still learning to tolerate being picked up, and her foster mom continues to gently work on this at Irene’s pace.

This sweet, playful girl has been through a lot and is ready for a forever home where she can feel secure, respected, and loved. With patience and understanding, Irene will reward her new family with companionship, personality, and affection on her own special terms.

Irene is around 1-2 years old. She has been spayed and vaccinated. She is litter box trained.

The adoption fee for Irene is $100

We are located in the Columbia Gorge area in OR/WA (this is where the kittens are fostered), but we are able to transport to those locations where we advertise (i.e. Seattle and Portland area). There isn't an additional fee for transport, but any additional donation to help support what our little group does is appreciated.

When responding to this ad, please provide a phone number where you can be reached. Having an alternate means to contact people is helpful, since our email can end up in SPAM. Please also provide some information on your home. For example: Do you have small children? How many? Is your home life quiet or busy? Do you live in a rural or urban area? Do you have any other pets? What else should we know?

All of the kittens at Pawsitivity are fostered in homes where they are cared for and socialized. We don't keep kittens in cages (except maybe at bedtime). Our foster parents are able to learn each of their personalities this way and determine the best home for them. We also make sure all kittens are healthy before placing them in their forever home.

For additional information on our group and what we do, please check out our website: www.pawsitivity.info

Pawsitivity's Adoption Policy
Adopter understands that kittens/cats available for adoption have been rescued from a variety of situations, including neglect/abuse, as such could be subject to health or behavioral problems not known at this time. Adopter agrees and accepts the kitten/cat with this understanding. The kittens/cats are healthy and up to date on all vaccines and medical treatments which were necessary for the health of the kitten/cat. Rescuer/foster makes no further guarantees or warranties of any kind for health of the kitten/cat and that the adopter assumes all risks at/from the time of initial possession and following. Adopter understands full responsibility for the health and welfare of the adopted kitten/cat for the duration of the natural life. The responsibility includes all costs for veterinary and health needs, housing and shelter, food and any other expenses related to care and welfare. Adopter agrees to contact a veterinarian to follow up vaccines, if needed. Adopter understands that declawing cats is a cruel procedure and will not do that to the adopted kitten/cat. Adopter agrees to pay the adoption fee/donation. We do not have an adoption application, but we do want to speak to the potential adopter and ask a few questions in order to make sure we find the right fit for our cats/kittens.
