Iota's Story
FOSTERED IN: Chicago, IL 60634
ESTIMATED DOB: 2013
COLOR/BREED: Black and White Shorthair
KIDS: Unknown
DOGS: Yes
CATS: Some

HISTORY:
Iota came to us from a suburban animal control facility. She was part of a hoarding case.

ABOUT:
Iota is a sweet girl who is a great mix of affectionate and independent. She loves to follow her foster family around during their morning routine, but is completely content to nap all day while they are at work. Her foster family said she is very intelligent and quickly learned the house routine and goes with the flow. Iota loves attention and is happy to receive all the pets you have to share. She also enjoys sitting behind your shoulders on the couch. She will tolerate being picked up but it doesn’t spark joy for her.

Iota might be a senior but she still LOVES to play with her toy mice and will entertain herself for long periods of time. Once or twice a day she likes to loudly announce to everyone that her mouse hunt has been successful.

Iota came from a hoarder and has lived with other cats. She spent time in her foster home with another cat from that home. They got along well, but Iota would occasionally bully the other cat. She has seen another cat in the home, without any drama, but has not been introduced to that other cat. Iota is being fostered with small dogs and she is very confident and not intimidated by them. On occasion she likes to tell them what she thinks they should be doing. The dogs walk away and everyone is happy. Iota is not being fostered with children, but she is friendly and not easily startled, so she would likely do well with respectful children.

Iota has had a long road with chronic ear infections. She had one of her ear canals completely removed. She is doing great after the surgery and the other ear has been clear. She eats Science Diet Z/D to manage allergies. Throughout all of the treatments, medications, procedures, and surgeries Iota has never been anything but sweet. Iota prefers a low-entry litterbox with paper crumble litter.

Iota’s foster family described her as: Beautiful, Smart, Silly, Curious, and Playful.

Interested in adding one of our adoptables to your family?
