Meet Ingrid

Meet Ingrid! Ingrid is total sweet, gentle senior and a true love bug! She is around 10-12 years old and was abandoned when her family moved with out her. She spent 2 years trying to survive outside by living under a deck. When she arrived at Ten Lives, Ingrid was in very tough shape and some days were rougher than others, but we knew she wasn't ready to give up. With the help of one of our dedicated and loving fosters, Ingrid has thrived and is now ready to enjoy her golden years snuggled up in warm, soft blankets and showing off her extraordinary biscuit making skills!

Ingrid is a very sweet, gentle girl who LOVES to be pet and will walk right over with headbutts. She fancies taking long naps that are filled with dreams of delicious wet food. Wait, did you say wet food? Ingrid is on it! She really enjoys having a rotating variety of wet food and will meow if you are too slow getting it to her dish. But more than anything, she just wants to cuddle next to you and spend every second she can with you! Her foster mom tell us Ingrid loves to listen to her quietly talk to her and pet her head while she makes biscuits and purrs away. Ingrid also loves to be able to press her forehead against yours and purrs loudly.

Although FIV+ and still working on some ear infections, Ingrid has made a remarkable transformation and has her strength back, new coat growing in, clear eyes and a great appetite! Due to having severe dental disease and having most of her teeth removed, she has not been given any dry food but boy does she love her wet noms! Ingrid is hard of hearing and would do best in a home without any young children. It is unknown how she is with other pets.

Ingrid suffered severely for 2 years and is a gentle, sweet soul who just wants to be loved and deserves to live out her golden years being spoiled by love! If you're ready to open your home to this amazing girl, she hopes you will fill out an application today!

All over the country cats with FIV are often euthanized or considered not adoptable even though most FIV+ cats go on to live normal, healthy lives. TLCR believes that education is key to helping FIV+ cats find the loving adoptive homes that they deserve. Please read below and do not hesitate to reach out with any questions! e:

-FIV is transmitted through deep bite wounds typically seen in male cats who are not neutered, living outside, and fighting over territory or resources.

-FIV does NOT spread through grooming, playing, sharing bowls, or litter boxes.

-Science proves that FIV+ cats live just as long as their negative counterparts with proper care.

-FIV is NOT the same as feline leukemia or human HIV.

-Humans or dogs can NOT contract FIV.

-Cats who test positive for FIV need the same basic care as cats who test negative. Yearly check-ups at the vet, to live indoors, and be fed good quality food.

-FIV+ cats shouldn't live with cats who are known carriers of feline herpes virus as they are more susceptible to infections.

Ten Lives is a foster-based program and does NOT have a brick and mortar facility with regular visiting hours. We are a 100% volunteer-powered organization and require an approved adoption application prior to scheduling meet and greets with animals. This is out of respect for the time, privacy, and safety of our foster families, as well as helping to ensure our animals are matched to the homes that best meet their needs.

We require that all applicants have a satisfactory veterinary reference and provide proof of homeownership OR landlords approval. We will contact all applicants who meet our minimum requirements within 96business hours of receiving your application.During kitten season wait times may be longer. We ask for your patience as we are all volunteers!

All Ten Lives cats are spayed/neutered, receive age-appropriate vaccinations, are tested for FIV/FeLv and parasites, dewormed, treated for fleas, and microchipped. These services are inclusive of the adoption fee.
