Indy - Small Dog Friendly's Story

Indy, age 9, was named after his beloved owner’s love of Indiana Jones—and just like his namesake, this sweet boy has been through quite an adventure.

When Indy’s owner passed away, he and three other cats were moved into a room where they were provided with food and water, but sadly received very little human interaction or affection for several years. Thankfully, a family friend stepped in, and all four cats were eventually able to come to Tyson’s Place.

By the time Indy arrived, he had painful mats throughout his fur. Those mats were carefully removed under veterinary care, and Indy has since received a full medical workup, dental cleaning, vaccinations, and everything he needed to get healthy. He has excellent litter box habits. Today, he is ready for the next chapter of his life.

Indy is a shy guy at first, so he will need either a cat-savvy adopter or someone who understands that earning his trust will take time. He may hide when he first comes home, but once he feels safe, you'll discover what a special little guy he is.

And when Indy loves you, he REALLY loves you. His favorite thing is to snuggle beside you, usually keeping one paw touching you. He doesn't even need to be petted—he simply wants to be close to his person. He also loves watching the world go by from a window and playing with his beloved catnip banana.

Indy has spent years without the love and attention every cat deserves. Now, he is looking for someone willing to be patient, give him time to find his courage, and let him blossom at his own pace. He even befriended the small dog in the home - with daily playing sessions and cuddle time together - check out the photos and video here.

If you have the patience to earn Indy’s trust, you’ll be rewarded with a devoted little companion who just wants to be by your side. He has lived successfully with small dogs.

If you think you might be Indy’s person, please email tysonsplacerescue@gmail.com or fill out an adoption application here:
https://tysonsplacerescue.org/cat-and-dog-adoptions/#adopt
