Indigo's Story

Indigo the brown tabby cat is a chill and gentle boy with a personality that has just begun to blossom! Indigo came from a home with a large number of cats. He tends to be on the shy side at first, but with patience and calm interactions, he shows that she has a solid foundation of social skills and is capable of forming loving connections with his people! Indigo loves to lounge and nap in high up places. Once Indigo is comfortable around you, he will accept pets and ask for more with a gentle "boop". Indigo may appreciate sharing his space with a confident, friendly resident cat who can help him feel secure and show him the ropes! Because Indigo can become overwhelmed with too much activity or handling, he will do best in a quieter home that can go slowly with introductions and transitions. He thrives when her environment is predictable and when his boundaries are respected. With a patient adopter who is willing to let him set the pace, Indigo is ready to become a purrfect feline companion!

Because we feel that Indigo would benefit from another friendly feline companion, we will honor the BOGO promotion if you choose to adopt with another kitty from their original home. To help make that happen, only one adoption fee applies!

This pet is eligible for an Adoption Audition! What is an Adoption Audition? It’s a 14-day, no-strings-attached, trial adoption period. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff!

Be sure to check the "shelter information" box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Michael R. Frey Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
