Illene's Story
Illene came to Heartland after a finder posted her on social media. She had been hanging around their property, then disappeared for a week and came back with an injury. The photos showed a broken leg and a hungry girl. She had obviously been through alot!Heartland took her in and within 24 hours, she gave birth to three babies prematurely. Sadly, despite our efforts, they did not survive. We got her to the vet to care for her injuries and found out thatthe broken leg was not salvigable, so an amputation was performed. She has healed well and is getting around just fine! Illene is a petite, sweet girl. She is a little hesitant at first to accept pets, then leans into them and starts purring. She just needs some time to learn that she can trust. She has the cutest, most inquisitive little face, and when she is comfortable with you, she requests belly rubs and playtime. She can also entertain herself quite easily. She loves to play! She does get along with other cats after she gets to know them, and enjoys grooming them, as well as being groomed by them. She has recently bonded with Apollo, they are so cute together and are the perfect pair. He'll sit on your lap while she plays and then they will nap together. Illene is spayed, microchipped, tested negative for FIV and FeLV and is current on vaccinations.
