Meet Hunter

Hunter and his two siblings (Babette & Skye) were found abandoned outside all alone during the bitter cold Polar Vortex winter in December 2020, they were very hungry and cold, a kind woman from Baraboo, WI fed them, kept them warm and sheltered outside until we could come pick them up and bring them into rescue to care for them.

Hunter's foster mom writes the following about him:

"Hunter is a man of simple pleasures--good food, a comfy bed, and lots of attention. He's a big guy and is endearingly dopey. He loves being petted and, if it's been a while, he'll stand all the way up to get to your hand. He's got tons of personality without being complicated. He's 1.5 years old but at heart is a silly permanent kitten.

He has taken some time to get used to being an indoor cat, so he's still sometimes easily startled, but he's way more tolerant of unexpected things now. When he last met strangers--3 at once--he let everyone pet him within a couple of minutes. If he's used to you, he'll literally greet you, yelling to get your attention. He is completely used to other cats, in the outgoing friendly way, not just tolerating them.

He and his sisters use but also chew up cardboard scratchers with no other things clawed up in their foster home. He loves loves LOVES Greenies and will accept them gently from pinching fingertips. He'll play with anything, toy or not. He definitely likes ball-in-tracks, loose toys to bat around, lasers, toys you flick around for him to chase, etc., but he's not against shredding a roll of paper towel and chasing the pieces around...no seriously, keep it up and away from him unless you like confetti.

He loves being petted and tolerates being picked up but doesn't like being held for long periods. He's wiggly but tolerates claw trims. He needs a regulated diet because he does seem to have an endless appetite and scarfs it as fast as he can, like a hungry, hungry hippo--no free-feeding for him!

Hunter has not met any children at his foster home, but we feel if the children are cat respectful and older children of middle school and high school age he will be just fine with them and he would also love for them to play with toys with him too!.

Hunter is totally housetrained, uses his litter box perfect and his scratching pads or the cat scratch tree. Hunter would be fine with an existing female cat in the household of a similar age, slow introductions of course would be best til they are used to each other."

If you by chance are looking to adopt two kitties, Hunter would love for you to adopt his tail-less bunny butt foster buddy Colby that he lives with at the same foster home. (see last photo and Colby's Petfinder listing)

Please consider adopting this sweet big guy that is a simple man to please!

Hunter is lovingly fostered in a home in Madison, Wisconsin
