Hunny’s FAQs

What is Berrien County Animal Control’s adoption process?

Our adoption process is simple and can be done in one visit! As with all our adoptions, you will be allowed 10 days to determine if the adopted animal is right for your home and vice versa. If the animal is not the right fit, you may return the animal for a refund or we can help you find another pet! If you have another dog at home we do ask for you to bring that dog with you for a meet and greet with our shelter dogs. We also require that all dogs in the home be licensed. If your dog is not licensed no problem! Just bring in your copy of your dog’s rabies vaccine record and we can easily get it done for you in the office.
