Hugo's Story

Hugo had an incredibly rough start. He was brought into FAR when a good samaritan found him outside, all 4 declawed and completely defenseless. Since coming into the rescue, we have found that he is a food puzzle genius, loves to play fetch, really enjoys his "stories" on tv, is a big time snuggler and would definitely - and well earned - prefer to be your one and only sweetheart. While in our care, he saw a cardiologist who found that not only was his heart metaphorically too big, it was physically enlarged. No medications for his heart or treatment are needed at this time. Fishtails Animal Rescue's Adoption Policy

Fishtails Animal Rescue strives to provide you with a healthy pet. However, the stress of changing environments can lower an animal’s immunity to fight disease and the pet could harbor an infection without displaying symptoms. We cannot guarantee the health of any animal. Any pet adopted out by Fishtails Animal Rescue will be up-to-date on vaccines (unless medically contraindicated), microchipped, spayed/neutered (if age appropriate*), and given a dose of flea/heartworm preventative. The microchip must be registered by the adopter to their new information. *If the animal is not spayed/neutered at time of adoption, the adopter will do so within 2 months after the animal reaches 6 months of age. In addition, if pet is under 16 weeks at the time of adoption, adopter is responsible for boosters for vaccines. Fishtails Animal Rescues is located in Philadelphia, PA and accepts applications within the tri-state area. The first step in our adoption process is to complete the adoption application found on our website. Applications are reviewed within 72 hours of submissions.
