Howie's Story

Howie is a magnificent Mainecoon. He is a stunning charcoal, dark gray color with white in his mane and gorgeous green eyes. He was living outside and found someone to feed him where thought he was establishing a home-base. He came regularly and made friends with their cat through the screen door. He would always stay close hoping to come in and cried to be noticed, but at the end of the day he was still on his own. He found himself weathering the cold. The first big snowstorm came and he was covered with ice, distraught and crying for help. We stepped in and brought him into rescue. Up close he was afraid of direct contact with people, but once he settled into foster he was just grateful to be indoors. He loves to be pet and purrs with delight. Once he gets going he leans right in, rolling and flopping over enjoying the love. He is still very cautious of people and needs someone patient who can help him feel safe. His personality is very loyal, loving, patient, and appreciative. He absolutely loves other cats. He feels safest and most outgoing when there is another cat present and knows how to make friends. He will do best in a home where he can have a nice cat for a buddy. No kids or dogs. He is fully vetted, estimated 2-3 years old.
