Houdini's Story
Meet Houdini!

At 15 years young, Houdini is a gentle old soul searching for a peaceful retirement home where he can spend his golden years wrapped in comfort, kindness, and love. After losing his previous owner, this sweet boy is starting over—and while change can be hard, Houdini is quietly hopeful that his next chapter will be filled with soft beds, calm companionship, and a human who truly cherishes him.

Houdini may look and sound a little grumpy at first glance (he’s earned the right, honestly), but don’t let that fool you—behind that serious expression is a tender, affectionate heart. He can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but with a little patience and a gentle approach, he warms up into a loving companion who enjoys soft pets and head scritches.

As a senior gentleman, Houdini does have a few special considerations. He is in the early stages of chronic kidney disease and will benefit from a kidney-supportive diet to help keep him feeling his best. He also appears to be hard of hearing—possibly even deaf—which just means he navigates the world a little differently, but is still a curious chap ready to explore his surroundings and take it all in. Poor sweet Houdini is front declawed and unable to defend himself, which means will need to be an indoor-only cat in a safe, calm environment where he can be protected from other animals that may do him harm.

What Houdini truly needs is a quiet home, a caring heart, and someone willing to give him the love and security he deserves in his best years. In return, he’ll offer you his quiet companionship, his gentle presence, loving head-butts, and the kind of special affection only a senior kitty can give.

If you have room in your home and your heart for a sweet deserving old boy, Houdini is ready to meet you today!
