Hortense

Hortense is a beautiful 2-year-old buff and white long-haired girl who is still learning that life doesn't have to feel quite so uncertain.<br/><br/>She came from a property where a large number of cats were living together after their owner passed away, and she likely had very little opportunity for individual attention or socialization. Since arriving, Hortense has preferred to take things slowly. She feels safest in quieter spaces and is perfectly content to observe what's happening before deciding whether she'd like to participate.<br/><br/>Hortense is still limited with her affection, but she isn't unfriendly. She's simply a girl who needs more time, patience and gentle handling than some cats do. There is no rushing her, and that's okay. The right person will understand that earning her trust may happen in little steps.<br/><br/>A calm home with someone willing to let Hortense settle in at her own pace would give her the opportunity to continue making progress.
