Honour's Story

***Miss Honour is a social diva and must have an adoring entourage to fawn over her awesomeness. She MUST be adopted into a home with friendly, playful cats happy to be her peeps!

Meet Honour!

Honour is a strikingly beautiful tuxedo girl, dressed for a formal occasion at all times, who is believed to be around a year and 9 months old.

She is, in a word, everywhere. She will supervise your cooking, audit your bedtime and bathroom routine, and greet you at the door every single time you come home. She is deeply invested in your life. She just needs you to know that this is her idea, and she has some thoughts about it.

Your Honour as she has come to be called communicates primarily through the hiss. She hisses hello. She hisses goodnight. She hisses *before* climbing into bed with you, which is her way of saying shes doing this under protest, and also please move over. She will hiss when you give her treats, which is gratitude, obviously. If you walk past her in the hall, she will hiss. If the light changes, she may hiss. Experts believe she may have simply confused a loving meow with a hiss, and has been confidently going about her business ever since.

She is also a champion slow blinker. She will fix you with the most suspicious, deeply skeptical eyes youve ever seen on a small animal, and then slowly, reluctantly, as if it pains her, blink. It will make you cackle. You will not be able to help it.

Honour loves treats, loves other cats, and will climb and scratch anything that holds still long enough. She has energy in abundance and uses every bit of it. Petting and close contact are not yet on her approved list, she needs time, patience, and a person who finds her theatrics charming rather than discouraging. Those who have spent time with her are convinced there is an absolute lovebug underneath all that magnificent sass. She just needs the right home to let her figure that out.

Honour would thrive with other pets and a patient adopter who respects her boundaries and doesnt take the hissing personally. (Its not personal. Probably;)

Would you like to make Honour a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: https://www.avacats.org/adoption-application-form.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $250 for each adult cat 1 year or older. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.
