The legendary Greek bard, Homer, is famously known for his epic poems, “The Iliad” and “The Odyssey”, which were written many centuries ago. In “The Odyssey”, a man named Odysseus travels for ten years following the Trojan War to reach his home. He battles not only natural disasters, but he encounters gods and mythical creatures too. Whoa! That’s some story! Here’s one of the better-known quotes from that epic story: “There is a time for many words, and there is also time for sleep.” I can relate! My name is Homer, and I’ve had an odyssey too, although I haven’t battled mythical beings or met any gods, although the people who rescued me and who care for me come close to being saints. I came to Paws and Claws in early March from another rescue. I’m quite a congenial tabby fellow who loves petting so much that I’ll rub against folks for even more petting. I play some, but I l like attention even more. Talking? My voice sounds like quiet chirps. As far as sleeping, I’m a cat, so what do you expect? We all need our Z’s. I hope that being here at the shelter is just a rest stop.
