Home Fry's Story
Rescued from an overwhelmed outdoor colony, the six “Potato Kittens” were brought into our program by a trapper who couldn’t stand the thought of them growing up outside in a place already stretched thin. They were shy at first, but with time in our cat playroom and near-daily socialization from our incredible Mount Carmel student volunteers, they have truly blossomed. They love toys, tube treats, and gentle patience.

When they first entered the program, they tested FIV positive — something that can happen in young kittens who still carry their mother’s antibodies. We recently retested all of them at the 6-month mark, and we have the news we were hoping for: every single Potato is FIV NEGATIVE. They are healthy, thriving, and ready for their forever homes.

Their honorary “brother,” Hash Brown, came from a different colony around the same age and immediately fit right in.

Now that they’ve grown into lanky, playful “big kittens,” they’re in that wonderful in-between stage — past the tiny baby chaos but still full of curiosity, zoomies, and sweetness. They would thrive with adopters willing to sit with them, play with them, and continue building their confidence.

Home Fry is a gorgeous gray boy with soft Russian Blue vibes — and he’ll do anything for a tube treat. Once he knows you’ve got snacks, he becomes your best friend. He’s a little shy at first but is already showing how sweet and silly he can be.

If you'd like to meet me, stop by Jefferson Feed (corner of Jefferson Hwy. and Central Ave.).

Adoption Fee is $200/each or $350/pair. We like our kittens to have friends so we want a pair adoption if you have no other pets unless we know a specific kitten prefers to be alone. All kittens are Spayed/Neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines, FeLV/FIV tested and microchipped.

DOWNLOAD our Adoption Application here: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/ahiajf6e6i0ox2hdl09jk/JSPCA-Application_2.0-Newest-Updates.pdf?rlkey=be9he1julh02etikl021k9plk&dl=0

All adoptions subject to approval.
