Holmes | Special Needs Gentleman of pure love!'s Story

Holmes has already survived more than most cats ever should… and now he’s ready for the easy part of life: being someone’s spoiled housecat. 🖤

Holmes was living behind a local shop for quite some time, quietly getting by with the help of a kind Good Samaritan who made sure he had food. But life outside is never safe, and one day Holmes was found after what we believe was a coyote attack. He had severe wounds to his back legs that required a lot of care and time to heal.

The good news? His legs have healed beautifully. The harder part is that Holmes likely suffered something called a tail pull injury during the attack. His tail is now paralyzed, and it left him incontinent. That means Holmes will need to wear diapers for life.

And if you’re picturing a sad or defeated cat… you haven’t met Holmes.

Holmes is a big, handsome cuddle bug who absolutely loves pets and attention. He leans into affection like he’s been waiting his whole life for it. All he really wants now is a soft place to nap, a human who will love on him, and the safety of indoor life where nothing can hurt him again.

Despite everything he’s been through, Holmes is incredibly easygoing. He’s fine with other cats, but also perfectly happy to soak up all the attention as an only child. His vibe is very much: *“I’m just here for the snacks and the cuddles.”*

Holmes is:
• Neutered
• FIV/FELV negative
• Up to date on vaccines

He does have special needs, but what he gives in return is something really special: a resilient, loving cat who is so ready to trust someone with his whole heart.

Holmes daily care includes helping him by expressing his bladder twice a day, helping make sure he is fully empty to prevent UTIs. He is currently diapered 24/7 as he does leak urine.

Holmes survived the outside world. Now he’s just looking for the person who will make sure he never has to go back.

If you think you might be that person, please reach out about adopting Holmes. 🐾
