Hobbes's Story

Meet Hobbes! He is currently in foster care and ready for adoption via our virtual process!

Hobbes, a two-year-old male, is still getting settled in, so we're just beginning to learn who they are. Right now, everything is new-new people, new sounds, new routines-and we're giving them time to relax, decompress, and show us their true personality at their own pace.

Here's what we know so far from his time in foster care: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xNQl2x6pv4uJ_vIROxmhYoXlOHiPuSGC/view?usp=drive_link

Hobbes has settled into his foster home nicely. He is a bit on the shy side and will benefit from some extra support as he adjusts. He is very cute and playful. His foster says "Very shy but eager to explore, I can tell he is a curious boy ...VERY ADORABLE IM DYING FROM CUTENESS OVERLOAD". Hobbes is in foster with his buddy Calvin. They love to play and cuddle together. They are so lovely and adorable. They are good friends and always walk side by side. They have big bright eyes and smooth fur. They're shy, but very kind and gentle. They are affectionate, loving companions.

"Calvin is more confident and curious about the new environment. He is comfortable staying near me, while Hobbes is more sensitive to sounds and movements and prefers to stay alone. I've been fostering them for only one week, so I haven't fully built trust with them yet. They only let me pet their heads and backs while I'm feeding them. Every time I'm preparing their food, they get excited, especially Hobbes - he shows his social side by rubbing his body against my legs.

They both love to play, and Calvin is the more playful one. He's always the one finding new toys and inviting Hobbes to join. They prefer playing with each other rather than with people. They love grabbing and scratching at little mouse toys, and sometimes play with balls too. They can be very talkative while playing!

Calvin uses the scratching boards a lot, and he seems to prefer the fabric type. So I'd recommend providing an alternative scratching surface near any fabric furniture to avoid damage."

He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had preventative treatments to ensure he is ready for his next steps.

Submit an adoption survey from above and our team will reach out via phone or email (check spam) to schedule a counseling call. For any additional questions, please contact fosternyc@bestfriends.org.

Please remember, pets cannot be held or reserved.
