Meet Hiccup! <br/><br/>If you’ve seen How to Train Your Dragon, you’ll definitely understand the name. Our newest rescue is a tough little guy with a matching spirit — missing a foot, brave, and loving.<br/><br/>Hiccup was spotted hobbling along the side of a busy road, and despite already being ear-tipped (meaning someone had TNRed him), we just couldn’t bring ourselves to release him back outside.<br/><br/>Hiccup has quickly come around - he came in nervous and a bit spicy but within days he warmed up and became so loving. He gets startled still if you come in the room quickly but will love on you once you get down to his level and approach him calmly.<br/><br/>He LOVES other animals - he immediately goes up to them and rubs his face on them, including dogs, cats, and even ferrets. He must go to a home with another cat because they make him feel comfortable. <br/><br/>Unfortunately - Hiccup has shown some behavioral issues, including peeing on the bed. Our goal is to ensure every animal is placed in a safe, loving, and permanent home. To protect their well-being, our rescue follows these adoption guidelines: • A brief video home check is required prior to finalizing any adoption. •All adult members of the household must review and sign the adoption contract. • Background checks are conducted to confirm a safe environment. • Declawing or allowing adopted cats to roam outdoors is strictly prohibited. • Veterinary references are required and will be verified. • If at any point the adopter cannot continue to care for the animal, the pet must be returned to the rescue. •A medical care agreement ensures that if an adopter cannot afford necessary vet treatment, the animal will return to the rescue for care. •We conduct a meet-and-greet with potential adopters to make sure the household environment and lifestyle appropriately match the needs of the animal. Our policies are designed to ensure every rescued pet has the best chance at a safe and happy forever home.
