Hero's Story

***Hero has no desire to be a zero, or even a one! He will definitely need a young, playful cat friend he can tussle and cuddle with in his new home. Haven or Hart are cats he grew up and got along with, so either or both girls can be great options!

Can you hear the raspy voice of Bonne Tyler singing, ‘“I need a hero…”? Well, have we got a perfect cat to fulfill that wish!!

Hero is a classic silver tabby who lives up to his name with heroic headbutts and intensely focused loving. His head bumps are insistent and emphatic, and where the other end is concerned, butt scritches are his ultimate bliss and he will back up into you to get them! You would think he’d roar like a lion, but the fact is, he has the cutest, squeakiest little mew totally not in keeping with his macho image! But soooo cute!!

Although he is not at the stage of sitting on laps or being picked up yet, the potential to get there eventually is promising. When it comes to playtime and toys, Hero is all in, all the time! He can bat around springs and stuffed mouse toys, or smack the balls around the track tower on his own. But if the other cats or humans want to play, he is right there, ready for action! Bring on the wands! When Hero loves, he throws his whole body into it, and can plow over the other cats with his aggressively affectionate headbutts and body checks. This boy loves the way he plays, all in, no holds barred!

Hero takes his time checking out his surroundings and when he deems it safe, is willing to range farther and explore parts unknown. Even though loud noises or sudden movements still startle and unnerve him, the temporary fright is quick to pass when things settle down. With time, that too, will pass.

If a Hero is what you need, this focused, Temptations- and Churu-loving big boy may be just the furry companion you seek. Anytime you feel the impulse to share in the rapture of butt scritches, Hero will be right there.

Would you like to champion a Hero, and maybe his sisters too, as a part of your family? Please complete our online application found at: https://www.avacats.org/adoption-application-form.

Our adoption fees cover vetting and include spay/neuter, vaccines (initial FVRCP and rabies), flea treatment, two dewormings and microchipping.

Adoption fees are $250 for each adult cat 1 year or older. Please note that fees may apply for additional required vaccinations (at $75 per booster) due prior to adoption. Total adoption fees will be confirmed by the AVA Adoption Coordinator.
